Cast iron teapots can be used on all heat sources, except the microwave oven. The time it takes to boil water depends on the kind of heat source. Before placing the teapot on the stove, please fill it with water/liquid. If placed on a gas hub or on open fire, keep the flames small and make sure that the flame do not toutc the side of the teapot. Prevent from boiling dry (that there is no more water/liqued in the teapot). During boiling the teapot and handle could become hot. Please take care of this. Warming the teapot on a heat source could cause chanses of color. This is not covered by the warranty. For keeping you tea warm for a longer period, advise to use a tea warmer with tealight.

It is not uncommon for a cast iron teapot to eventually start to rust, mainly around the lid and the spout. If you want to prevent rusting you can grease the outside and edge you of teapot using a slightly oiled cloth (e.g. with salad oil). Do not apply any oil to the enamelled interior of the teapot. After using the teapot, rinse with warm water and preferably dry with a soft cloth. Store the teapot without the lid, as this helps prevent rusting. Placing a paper towel between the lid and the teapot helps to absorb any moisture.

Not dishwasher safe.
